Taylor Trevino has been on the Vanguard Visual Staff since 2011. His drum corps experience began with the Santa Clara Vanguard, marching mellophone in 2009 and aging-out on trumpet in 2010.
He currently serves as the Associate Director of Bands and Marching Band Director at Lake Travis High School in Austin, TX where he has been since 2015. Under his direction, the Lake Travis High School Cavalier Band has been a BOA Regional and Super Regional finalist, UIL State Marching Contest participant and Area Champion. At Lake Travis he directs the Marching Band, the Wind Symphony and the Concert Band. A graduate of Cedar Park High School and Texas State University, Trevino studied trumpet with Jack Laumer, Dr. Amanda Pepping, and Dr. Robert Cannon and music education with Dr. Mary Ellen Cavitt and Dr. Amy Simmons.
While at Texas State University he was the Trumpet Section Leader and later Drum Major for the marching band. He student taught and served on the instructional staff at Vandegrift High School and has been on the instructional staffs at Ronald Reagan and James Bowie High Schools. Groups under his direction have received numerous Sweepstakes awards in marching and concert contests. He has also taught Drum Major and Leadership courses at Texas Lutheran University’s Summer Music Academy.
