Vanguard Music and Performing Arts (VMAPA) is a non-profit performing arts organization dedicated to music and movement education. Our mission is to inspire and enrich lives by increasing opportunities for participation, education, and excellence in the performing arts. Each year, the organization supports 400+ members, middle school through college age, who audition to participate in one of our many ensembles. The Santa Clara Vanguard (SCV) Admin Team is responsible for executing day to day logistics on tour and working behind the scenes to ensure things run smoothly for members, staff, and volunteers! As a Tour Assistant, you will report directly to the SCV Tour Manager and SCV Corps Manager while also working closely with volunteers and other staff members on the road.
The Santa Clara Vanguard (SCV) Athletic Trainer will travel with SCV during pre-tour and throughout the summer, managing the day-to-day operations of the medical needs of the drum corps. This position reports directly to the SCV Corps Manager and SCV Corps Director, while working closely with Caption Managers and other staff to ensure the healthy and safety of our members.
The Santa Clara Vanguard (SCV) Sound Engineer will travel with SCV during pre-tour and throughout the summer, operating the sound console, creating samples, and performing maintenance on equipment. This position reports directly to the SCV Sound Designer, SCV Program Coordinator, and SCV Music Coordinator. You will work closely with the SCV Management team to execute the logistics and plan any needs for all SCV sound gear.
The Santa Clara Vanguard (SCV) Sound Engineer Apprentice will travel with SCV during pre-tour and throughout the summer, operating the sound console, creating samples, and performing maintenance on equipment. This position is unpaid and works directly with the SCV Sound Engineer while also working closely with the SCV Sound Designer, SCV Program Coordinator, SCV Music Coordinator, and SCV Management team.
The Santa Clara Vanguard (SCV) Assistant Chef will be responsible for the day to day operations of the corps’ mobile kitchen truck, Miss Amana. Responsibilities include managing the preparation of meals for the corps’ 220 members and staff while overseeing a group of assigned volunteers. The Assistant Chef will work with our Lead Chef and administrative team to ensure our performers are receiving the proper nutrition for their rigorous physical activity and schedule.
