Emmy Hedden

Emelia Hedden is the Associate Director of Bands at Dawson High School in Pearland, Texas. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Georgia, where she graduated in 2017.

Mrs. Hedden began her teaching career at Bonnette Junior High School in Deer Park, Texas. During this time, she remained actively involved in the marching band and drum corps communities. In 2019, she joined Clear Springs High School in League City, where she directed the Symphonic Band and served as the primary marching band instructor.

Since joining the Dawson High School staff in 2022, Mrs. Hedden has led the visual program for the award-winning Dawson Eagle Marching Band. Under her leadership, the band has earned finalist honors at Bands of America competitions and qualified for the UIL State Marching Band Contest in both years of her tenure. During the concert season, she directs the Symphonic Band and assists with the Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, and Cadet Band.

While at Dawson, Mrs. Hedden has contributed to significant program achievements. The Dawson Wind Ensemble was invited to perform at the 2024 Midwest Clinic and was named the 2025 TMEA 6A Honor Band. Her ensembles consistently earn superior ratings at UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluations, and her 2023 Symphonic Band was awarded the Citation of Excellence.

A passionate advocate for the marching arts, Mrs. Hedden is an alumna of the Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps. She has served on the instructional staff for several corps, including the Oregon Crusaders, Genesis, Spirit of Atlanta, and most recently, the Santa Clara Vanguard.
