Alumni Association Committees

The Vanguard Alumni Association has a few alumni-run committees focused on a few goals and objectives, namely fundraising, alumni engagement, and communication. These committees meet every third Wednesday of the month. Any and all alumni are welcome to join.

Committee Chair – Ashley Miller-Dykeman

A monthly update across all VAA activities and opportunities to get involved.

Performers Support Network

Committee Chair – Brett Wilcox

Similar to the 2023 effort, this group will plan care package engagements with performing members on tour. The goal is to build a bridge between current performers and alumni.

Service Recognition Committee

New Committee. This group will determine our methods for recognizing all volunteers through the season. There will be new annual recognition efforts. Also determine a patch style recognition with logos for the alumni group, VAA.

Fundraising Committee

This team will coordinate all small form fundraisers for the season with the emphasis on activities that directly support ALL performance members. Most efforts will be restricted donation efforts.

Front & Center Committee

Largest annual fundraiser for VMAPA. This effort engages all facets of the community including HOF, HS, VAA and VMAPA volunteers. Tentative date is June, 2024.

Community Celebrations Committee

New Committee. Funding is pending. This team will support alumni parties slated for around the country and preferably taking place along the corps. tour path so the participation is as high as possible. BBQs and watch parties.

Holiday Party (PST)

The original holiday party in Santa Clara. Organied and paid for by the attending alumni.

Holiday Party (EST)

Local party organized by alumni in the EST area. This committee may tap into the experience of how SCV has done this through the years. Party format determined by the local committee.
