About John Holsinger
John is a seasoned executive with over 30 years of experience in the IT technology, software, and services industries. Specializing in sales and executive management, he has a proven track record of driving growth through strategic planning, global sales strategies, and building high-performing teams. John’s expertise includes managing multimillion-dollar partnerships and leveraging cutting-edge technologies.As the founder and CEO of Wehr Biopower, John developed Biopower Security, the world’s only Signal Protocol personal security app. Demonstrating innovation and adaptability, he established a new market for crowdsourced security and support.
John’s previous roles include serving as Senior Vice President of U.S. Sales and Marketing at Software AG, where he revitalized the SAP U.S. practice. Working directly for SAP, he was the Global Account Director managing sales and support for EDS, one of SAP’s largest clients. He began his career at IBM, managing hardware, software, and services sales teams.
An accomplished author, John penned the memoir Accidental Motivation, which chronicles his journey of personal growth following a life-changing bicycle accident and 50-foot fall in 2016. His story offers inspiration and practical insights, resonating with readers seeking motivation in overcoming life’s challenges.
John’s connection to the Vanguard organization is deeply personal. His son, John August Holsinger, is a member of the Santa Clara Vanguard. During his son’s high school years at Vandegrift High School, John served on the Booster Club board and was the Director of Fundraising for this Texas state and Bands of America (BOA) Grand Nationals champion band organization. This family involvement fuels John’s passion for supporting the performing arts community. His daughter, Katherine Holsinger, works as an Aerospace Engineer on the 777X at Boeing, the world’s largest and most efficient twin-engine jet.
Leveraging his extensive experience in sales and executive management, John is committed to assisting VMAPA with fund development initiatives. His strategic vision and expertise in building partnerships are invaluable assets to the organization’s growth and sustainability.
John grew up in Ohio and earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He currently resides with his partner, Tina Amberboy, in Austin, TX.
