Jen Hepp is currently pursuing her masters degree in Wind Conducting at the UMKC Conservatory in Kansas City, MO. She is also currently the Director of the Beginning Band for the nonprofit organization Harmony Project KC, which provides music education through after-school programming for students in Kansas City who have limited access to music education in their community. Prior to attending UMKC, Jen served as a high school band director in Houston, Texas in Klein ISD.
Jen holds Bachelor’s degrees from Northwestern University in Music Education, Trumpet Performance and Journalism. During her time at Northwestern, she was recognized as a Theodore Presser Scholar and performed regularly with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. Jen marched with The Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps in 2016 as the featured trumpet soloist and served as a member of the brass staff for the corps for three years. She is excited to join Vanguard’s incredible team!
