Jacob Daniel has been teaching in the marching arts for over 13 years and has an expanded background of experience that he brings to the table. He has a history not only as a successful educator, but a successful performer as well.
Jacob began band in 6th grade and started playing tuba in the second half of the year. He began his marching career as a member of the Union Pines High School Marching Band, where he was introduced to drum and bugle corps and DCI. He began marching drum corps with Carolina Crown in 2010, 2011, and 2013 as a member of the contra section. In 2014, Daniel filled a last minute spot with Blue Devils B as a euphonium member and aged out with the corps.
Following his age out, Daniel began teaching at Carolina Gold Drum and Bugle Corps. Other groups that Daniel has been a part of include River City Rhythm Drum and Bugle Corps, Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps, Irondale HS, Hastings HS, Northern Nash HS, and Corinth Holders HS. He is currently on staff at Nation Ford HS in Fort Mill, SC.
As a performer, Jacob received his Bachelors in Music Education from East Carolina University and received his Masters Degree in Tuba Performance from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. During that time, he performed with groups such as the Minnesota Orchestra, Mankato Symphony Orchestra, The Miami City Ballet Orchestra, The Royal Winnipeg Ballet Orchestra, the Wilmington Symphony, and the Legend of Zelda Symphony of the Goddesses. He has received a gold medal for the Student Division at the 2012 Leonard Falcone International Tuba and Euphonium Solo Competition and the 2013 SERTEC Student Solo Competition.
