Hector Garcia

Hector Garcia began his color guard career at Rancho Buena Vista High School (Vista, California) where he immediately found his passion for the performing arts. He started his career in 2009 performing for his high school’s color guard and dance team. After RBV, Hector trained with elite studios in California, including California Ballet (San Diego, CA) and Alonzo King Ballet (San Francisco, CA). He marched Winter Guard at Santa Clara Vanguard 2014-2016 as well as Bluecoats Indoor for their Inaugural season in 2018, where he served as one of the captains.  For DCI, Hector marched Santa Clara Vanguard in 2013-2014 and the Blue Devils in 2015. Hector had the opportunity to travel and perform in Japan for 6 months as a member of the Visual Ensemble with “Blast! The music of Disney”.

While performing, Hector has had the opportunity to teach and choreograph for Mt. Carmel High School, Northview HS and Cindy’s Dance studio. This will be his first year teaching at Santa Clara Vanguard and he is excited to be part of the team!

Hector has graduated from San Diego Pacific Medical Center and has worked as a Nurse Assistant in Hospitals in San Diego and San Francisco, CA. Following his passion for dance, he will be moving to NYC to pursue his career in dance in the Winter of 2018. After the summer, He plans to move his life to Austin, Texas where he will be teaching at Vandergrift High School for the Fall season.
