Movement Technician

Cameron Cornejo

Cameron Antonio Cornejo is a queer artist, dancer, and educator. Born in San Jose, CA he was first introduced to dance through his Filipino and Latin heritage at a very young age. In his teen years, he started to explore ideas of movement through performing arts and colorguard at Oak Grove High School (2007). A Santa Clara Vanguard alumnus, Cameron was able to continue his colorguard performing career with the Drum & Bugle Corps in 2011 and 2013, the Santa Clara Vanguard Winterguard in 2010, 2012 and 2015, and SCV International in 2015.

He furthered his movement journey and education at San Jose State University, graduating in 2020 with a BFA in Dance. Throughout his years in the arts, he’s had the opportunity to teach and share his knowledge of dance at multiple schools in San Diego, the Bay Area, as well as Ronald Reagan High School in San Antonio, TX from 2016 and 2017.

While he manages a store from a well known coffee brand, he continues to work as a freelance educator in dance, as well as a project dancer. He has also worked with local Bay Area dance companies such as Cypher Dance Company, Barron & Co., and REACH BC.

Cameron holds professional training in contemporary, jazz, ballet, and the pageantry arts, paired with the dynamic contrast of art and his culture. Cameron believes and manifests the idea that everyone and anyone can dance.
