Lucian Henry Romo, more commonly known as “Bud,” first got involved with the Santa Clara Vanguard when his son joined the Corps in 1971. At that time, Bud began volunteering and helping get the Vanguard Bingo program onto its feet. Eventually, he was appointed Equipment Chairman, a role in which he greatly improved the transportation efforts of the organization.
Bud was also heavily responsible for the birth of both Miss Amana food trucks (1977, 1992) and the overall success of the SCV business operation. Bud retired from his position in the organization in 1995, but continued volunteering up until 2002.
