Vanguard Winter Percussion presents “The Comfort Zone”

Vanguard Winter Percussion (VWP) is pleased to present its 2016 program The Comfort Zone, featuring selections including Hallelujah Junction by renowned Bay Area composer John Adams. The program explores the emotions and challenges of “expanding one’s comfort zone,” and the discovery of how we truly find peace, meaning, and value in our lives.

This season, the ensemble will perform at the Winter Guard International San Bernardino and Las Vegas Regionals. VWP is also are a proud founding member of the Northern California Percussion Alliance and will perform locally at four NCPA events, including Championships on April 2 in Union City, CA.

The VWP design staff includes Artistic Director Vince Oliver, musical arrangements by Paul and Sandi Rennick, with visual design, choreography, and coordination by Chris Carrasco, Sal Salas, and Matt Hartwell.

Founded in 2009, VWP is under the direction of Nate Bourg, and assisted by Matt Hartwell, Program Manager Doug Durando, and Music Director Glen Crosby. Since their 2011 WGI Independent Open Class Championship, the ensemble has competed in the Independent World Class, and placed 9th out of 27 ensembles at the 2014 World Championship Finals in Dayton, OH.
