Scott Koter retired as assistant superintendent for the Kiski Area SD, Vandergrift, PA, and served as director of secondary education, principal and band director in that same district. His bands received numerous honors including appearances at the Midwest Clinic, MENC, IAJE and PMEA conventions and captured numerous state and Bands of America regional titles while being named BOA Grand National finalist seven times and a Grand National class champion two times.
From 1983-1996, Scott adjudicated for DCI serving as percussion caption manager and Task Force member during that time. He was the program coordinator for The Cavaliers of Rosemont, IL from 1999-2015 and served in that same role for SCV from 2016-2019. Collectively, those groups accumulated six DCI world championships and 15 top three finishes. He was inducted into the DCI Hall of Fame in 2015.
He presently serves as a creative consultant for Fannin Musical Productions and as an educational consultant for Innovative Percussion Inc. He is a clinician, consultant, designer and adjudicator for numerous schools and organizations around the world. Scott is honored to return to SCV for the 2022 season.
