SCV’s newest Head Chef, Jacob Greenwell, has seven years of experience in the culinary industry. Throughout his training in culinary school in Wilmington, NC, he learned skills such as baking, garde manger, French cuisine, and kitchen techniques. Jacob has an extensive knowledge of food and the food industry.
Jacob has worked for years in the restaurant industry where he has held many different positions ranging from dishwasher to kitchen manager. In addition to his experience in the culinary arts, he also has a background in music and the marching arts. Jacob has performed as a member of his high school’s drumline within the Bands of America and Winter Guard International circuits as well as in New York City for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Greenwell attended the University of North Carolina at Pembroke under the direction of Dr. Tracy Wiggins where he studied jazz drum set and world percussion. Jacob is also a dedicated member of the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America.
Being a part of the Santa Clara Vanguard as Head Chef is the perfect way for Jacob to bring his two passions, food and music, together.
