Carrie Appel (she/her) is a proud alumnus of the Vanguard organization. She started her DCI career with two years at Pacific Crest before marching at SCV from 2017 to 2021. Carrie’s WGI career includes two years with Diamante Winterguard. She is also currently marching with Pulse Percussion’s visual ensemble for the 2022 season to broaden her horizons and explore the marching activity in a new way. She has been performing since 2011 and has made other special appearances, like the 2019 Rose Parade and the 2021 LA Pride Celebration.
Her teaching experience began with Culver City High School, where she was the Colorguard Director for two years. In 2019, she started as the Colorguard Director for UCLA, while still a student there herself. Carrie graduated from UCLA in 2021 with a degree in World Arts and Cultures and a minor in Visual and Performing Arts Education. In addition to running the UCLA Colorguard, Carrie is a technician at Granada Hills Charter High School as well as an after school art teacher at SAGE @ Millikan Middle School.
Carrie grew up in Santa Barbara and currently lives in Hollywood, CA with her lovely cat and partner.
