Calvin Carr

Calvin Carr is the Band Director at Pixley Middle School and a former President of the Tulare Kings County Music Educators Association (TKMEA). He’s also an elected State Representative for the California Teacher Association. Calvin is also a tour administrator for the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps from Santa Clara, CA. Prior to coming to Pixley, he was the Front Ensemble Caption Head for Mission Oak HS for five years. His previous middle school experience includes being the co-caption head of the WGI regional champions, Springstowne MS, for 5 years, and percussion caption head for Vallejo MS for 1 year, both schools hailing from Vallejo, CA. He was also a front ensemble technician for the Blue Devils “C” Corps from Concord, CA. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from California State University, Fresno and a Masters in Arts in Music Education from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL.

Calvin is an alumni of the Blue Devils “B” corps front ensemble and the San Francisco Renegades in both the front ensemble and as the drum major. Calvin is also an alumnus of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia National Music Fraternity for men, and Kappa Delta Pi, The National Honor Society for Teachers. He currently resides in Visalia, CA with his partner, Lisa, and son, Caden.
