Bart Woodley has been involved in the marching arts since he was “hooked” as a high school marching band student growing up in Greenwood, Indiana. He holds a Master of Arts in Public Relations and a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.
Bart currently serves as Chief Operations Officer for WGI Sport of the Arts in Dayton, Ohio. In this role, he helps oversee the organization’s operations, major events, partnerships, and other initiatives supporting WGI’s programs and World Championships.
Throughout his career, Bart has worked with numerous marching bands and winter guards across the Midwest in a wide variety of roles, including director, coordinator, caption head, choreographer, drill writer, designer, technician, clinician, and judge. He has also served as a Pride of Cincinnati design and instructional staff member and was on their Board of Directors for 27 years.
Bart joined the Santa Clara Vanguard design staff in 2018 after spending 20 years on the staff of The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. His experience as an administrator, designer, educator, and longtime member of the marching arts community has allowed him to contribute to the activity from both the creative and organizational sides.
