SCV/SCVC Local Brass Workshop

Dec 6, 2017 | News, Vanguard Cadets

This Sunday, Dec. 10th, the SCVC Brass & Visual Staff will be hosting a FREE workshop day for potential SCV/SCVC Brass players! For those preparing to audition for the Vanguard Cadets on Dec. 15-17, this is an excellent opportunity to refresh your skills and get some advanced information for what will be expected that weekend. This opportunity is also open to all brass players who attended an SCV Audition Camp and are preparing for callback auditions in January. For those individuals, this will be a great way to work on the areas where staff wishes to see your growth.

This one-day workshop will run from 9:00am to 4:00pm with a lunch break from 12:00pm – 1:00pm. Please note that meals are not provided to attendees. The workshop will be hosted at the Vanguard Corps Hall (1795 Space Park Dr. Santa Clara, CA 95054), and we will be meeting on the south side of the building in the Dance Room. Make sure to bring a water jug, shoes and clothes suitable to move in.

We will be supplying mellophones, baritones, and tubas for those who are not able to bring their own marching instrument, but everyone is required to provide their own mouthpiece. Baritones will need to bring a LARGE BORE mouthpiece. Trumpet players MUST bring their own instrument.

Housing and shuttles will not be provided, but for musicians who live in the area,  this is a great opportunity for growth! Please help us spread the word and share this opportunity with other local brass players who may be interested. We look forward to seeing you!
