SCV 2026 CALLBACK CAMPS

Callback Audition Information

Congratulations on receiving a callback for the 2026 Santa Clara Vanguard! We hope you’ve discovered more about yourself, as well as where your interests and talent can take you and we are excited to have you continue your journey with us in the coming weeks.

Auditioning participants in callback status are expected to continue practicing to advance proficiency of skills necessary to attain membership. Please refer to the individualized feedback you received from the staff in your email. At your callback camp, we will evaluate the depth of your improvement and how well you have applied the comments and training you received during your audition. Though we will continue to evaluate you to our standards and the progress of the other prospective members, the amount of individual improvement you make in the coming weeks will be significant in our staff’s decision-making process.

We are honored and privileged that you chose to audition for SCV and we wish you the best in working toward your goal of being a member of the Santa Clara Vanguard in 2026. Should you decide to discontinue the audition process before the call-back weekend, please email gbastante@scvanguard.org with that decision as soon as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will I know if I will gain membership for 2026?
Callback audition results will be verbalized or sent to you within the week following your callback camp event.
Does a membership contract guarantee me a spot in the show?
Earning a contract does not guarantee an on-field performance spot. A contract gives you a spot within the corps. Any performer may be assigned to an understudy/alternate position at any time and staff will keep you informed about your standing regularly and provide feedback for improvement. You must keep up with practicing, assignments, maintain a positive attitude, and show a reasonable amount of improvement throughout pre-season and the summer. Refunds are not offered to students who are placed in an understudy/alternate position. All members of the corps carry the same level of responsibility.
If I gain membership, what will I be expected to do?

Within seven (7) days of receipt of your membership offer, you will be required to pay your non-refundable $200 membership deposit. You will receive a membership contract and you will need to read through and agree to the terms of membership. If you do not communicate or make your membership deposit payment in the time allotted, your membership offer may be retracted. There will be additional documents sent your way throughout the pre-season and it is your responsibility as a member to complete all tasks in a timely manner.

2026 tuition costs are $5,550 for the full summer. Tuition may be paid all at once or in multiple installments beginning in January 2026.  Multiple scholarship opportunities will be available for all participants. SCV offers early payment discounts, returning member discounts, and sibling discounts. You can review all this information in the SCV26 Member Finance Packet.

If I am not offered membership after the callback camp, do I need to audition again next year or will I automatically be invited to the callbacks for 2027?
It is a requirement that ALL perspective members begin the audition process each season at round 1 (video, satellite, one-day, or camps) prior to receiving a contract or callback. This is true of veteran/returning members as well.
What if I am unable to attend the in-person callback camp?
It is crucial that our staff see you in person before deciding on your potential membership for 2026. If you have an extenuating circumstance that does not allow for you to attend in person, please contact your caption manager as soon as possible.
What is provided at a callback camp event?
You can expect the following at a callback camp event:

  • Transportation to/from the airport Friday evening and Sunday afternoon. You can find more information when signing up for shuttles after you register for your event
  • Housing at the school Friday and Saturday evenings
  • Six meals throughout the weekend starting with late-night snack Friday night and breakfast Sunday morning
  • Access to on-campus showers
What should I bring to camp?
Here is a list of what to bring to audition camps.
What is the time commitment of a member?
You will be required to complete online assignments and training assigned from January through Pre-Tour (May Move-Ins).

Rehearsal camps are required for all members. If you are unable to attend a rehearsal camp you must notify corps management and caption managers.
