SCV Kitchen Truck Involved in Accident, Driver is Safe

Early this morning, July 17, Santa Clara Vanguard’s mobile kitchen truck, lovingly known as Miss Amana, was involved in a single-vehicle accident along KS-99 while traveling to Oklahoma following the corps’ performance in El Dorado, KS. The driver of Miss Amana is safe while only sustaining minor injuries.

“We are thankful to those who first responded to the accident, and for the health and safety of our driver” said Shaun Gallant, SCV Corps Director.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident. The kitchen trailer has suffered damages that will render the vehicle totaled beyond repair. We are currently making catering arrangements to ensure the performers, volunteers, and staff are well fed and have proper meals available to them. We have also started the process of renting another mobile kitchen for the remainder of our season.

We will continue to provide updates as they come available, but in the meantime if you have any questions, please contact our Executive Director, Charles Frost, at cfrost@scvanguard.org.
