Fall Dance Classes with Carol Abohatab

Sep 19, 2017 | News

Calling ALL dancers! Whether you’re a current, future, or former color guard performer; a dancer from the community; or even a drummer/horn player looking to gain more dance experience – we’ve got an exciting opportunity for you to express yourself and give back to the community!

For the first three Wednesdays in October, join Carol Abohatab for a series of Contemporary Modern/Jazz fusion dance classes right here at the
Vanguard Corps Hall! These drop-in classes are open to dancers of ALL skill
levels, last approximately one hour and fifteen minutes, and will include a
short warmup/technique, then combos across the floor and center. Special
thanks to Dave Flores who has agreed to come play drum set for select classes!

ALL proceeds will benefit the Immediate Impact Breast Cancer Walk , a 20 mile walk on October 15 in San Francisco, that seeks to raise funds for the underserved in the Bay Area and metastatic breast cancer research. Come have some fun and support a local organization who gives back to people living with breast cancer!

“The support and generosity is always overwhelming,” said Abohatab. “Together we have raised a total $25,000 in five years! I’m asking yet again because I believe that people help people, and if I can generate funds by engaging my friends and family to join in, then I will do so with all my might.”

The Immediate Impact Breast Cancer Walk is a project of “In Our Lifetime” a non-profit dedicated to bringing people together to affect positive change in their community. Please visit immediateimpactwalk.org and inourlifetime.org for more information on how you can help the cause!
