Jun 21, 2018 | Santa Clara Vanguard, Vanguard Cadets, Blog Post

As we prepare to kick off the 2018 DCI Summer Tour with a debut performance in Clovis, CA tomorrow night, it is our great pleasure to introduce “The Commandant’s Own” United States Marine Corps Drum & Bugle Corps as our 2018 Vanguard Tour Sponsor!

“We are so thrilled for this partnership with the USMC Drum & Bugle Corps,” said VMAPA Executive Director, Charles Frost. “Partnering with such a fine organization that really cares about our community, performers, and values is an honor.”

“The Marines of ‘The Commandants Own’ wish the very best of success to the entire Vanguard organization – in 2018 and beyond!” added USMC Drum & Bugle Corps Director and Commanding Officer, Major Chris Hall.

The United States Marine Drum & Bugle Corps was formed in 1934 to augment the United States Marine Band, and provides musical support to ceremonies around the nation’s capital. Over the years, this unit has gained considerable acclaim and popularity, performing for an increasing number of civilian audiences as they travel more than 50,000 miles annually, performing in excess of 400 events across the United States and around the world.

Through this exciting partnership, we look forward to strengthening the relationship between our two organizations, and shining a light on our shared values of integrity, passion, and excellence. In addition to acting as our 2018 Tour Sponsor, “The Commandant’s Own” is also the presenting sponsor of our brand-new Vanguard Blog!
