SCV Dallas Audition
Nov 30 - Dec 1
Trinity High School
Thank you for your interest in joining the 2020 Santa Clara Vanguard! We look forward to welcoming you at our Dallas Clinic & Audition Camp in November. This 2-day event is designed to give prospective BRASS, PERCUSSION, and COLOR GUARD members the full Vanguard Experience. From Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon, you’ll get a taste of drum corps life - sleeping in a gym, eating from our food truck, and rehearsing with our world class staff. Come ready to learn new things, meet new people, and have a great time! (PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL BE NO CYMBAL AUDITIONS AT THIS EVENT!)
Don’t forget to RSVP before attending this audition event! Once you do, we’ll send you the 2020 Prospective Member Information packet which includes more details and information about becoming a member of SCV.
1. Create a MySCV account or Log-in to your existing account
2. Fill out the 2020 Prospective Member Questionnaire
3. RSVP/sign-up to attend this event
4. Pay the registration fee (see below)
5. Submit a shuttle request if you require transportation
6. Fill out the required paperwork to bring with you for check-in
The registration fee for this audition is $150 when paying in advance or $200 when paying on the day of the event. Full payment is required for participation, and no previous year credits may be used. This fee is payable online through MySCV, over the phone, by mail, or in person. Make sure you get a receipt!
When you come to check-in for your audition, you must present a school or government issued photo ID. Next, we will collect your Medical History and Release form, Image Release form, and a copy of your medical insurance card. (You can find these forms in MySCV, and blank forms will be available at check-in as well.) Keep in mind that if you are under 18, a parent's signature is required. Upon successfully completing the registration process, you will be provided with a wristband and name tag to mark your participation.
Doors will open for registration at 7:30 AM on Saturday morning. Please do not arrive at the school before then. After everyone is checked-in, there will be a short welcome meeting with the corps' management before attendees break off into sections. Throughout the weekend, our staff will observe how you work within the group and conduct individual auditions to determine your overall grade for the weekend. We will finish on Sunday afternoon around 3:30 PM.
All prospective members will be provided with sleeping accommodations at the school for the weekend. Don’t forget to bring an air mattress, toiletries, and a towel! Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Snack will also be provided for camp attendees, starting with lunch on Saturday and ending with lunch on Sunday. Please make sure to eat breakfast before coming for registration!
To ensure your safety and security, all SCV audition camps operate as a closed campus. No one is permitted to leave the campus unless you have approval from the director. If you have any conflicts with the schedule, please let us know as soon as possible.
Those flying into Dallas to join us for the weekend should fly into DFW (Love Field is acceptable, but not preferred). Vanguard Shuttles to the airport and transportation centers will be available for prospective members EARLY Saturday morning until noon. Shuttles will resume on Sunday for departures. Please try to time your departure from an airport or transportation center after 4:00 PM on Sunday. Don't forget to fill out a shuttle request in MySCV as soon as you set your travel plans!
If you have any questions, contact us at ACorps@SCVanguard.org. Please do NOT contact the school for any information about this event. Once again, we are excited you have chosen SCV and look forward to seeing you in Dallas!
