Greetings!
We hope your Thanksgiving was safe and festive.
The new season has started for the Santa Clara
Vanguard. Over Thanksgiving
weekend, we had our first of two audition camps.
The turnout was great as you'll see below in the
article. We look forward to the new season, our
December Camp, and our New Years Bingo
Marathon.
We have started working towards rebuilding our
souvenir line. In the coming months more products
will become available. We'll try to display as many as
possible on the right side of this newletter. Check
the website for more.
| It's Audition Time |
 |
The Santa Clara Vanguard just completed our first
camp of the 2005 season. What a turnout we had
with over 350 participants. Check
out the pictures.
The SCV Corps Director, Rick Valenzuela, and the
design staff were all extremely pleased with the
turnout and the quality of musicians and color guard
participants. Rick said, "The weekend was great!
Everything ran very smoothly, and it seems all of the
participants had a good time even with the stress of
their audition."
Stuart Shulman, SCV Drum Major, stated, "This
weekend's camp was the most exciting of the five
years that I have been a part of the corps. The horn
line played through more than half of the entire show
and put on a performance for the guard, drums,
parents and staff on Sunday afternoon."
The December Camp dates are set for December 17-
19.
Please check out the following link for more
information regarding the December Audition
Camp.

| New Children's Adventures in Movement Schedule |
 |
Two separate performances marked the end of the
Fall Session for the
children's program, Children's Adventures in
Movement (CAM). On
Saturday, November 13th, Mom's, Dad's, siblings and
friends packed into
the studio and watched as ten separate pieces were
performed by the
Fall participants, and everyone was pleased with the
quality of dance
that was demonstrated. Especially popular were the
Creative and Flag
performances. The next sessions, Winter and Spring,
are two
back-to-back 8-week sessions beginning on January
29th for kids ages
4-12. There are also three new Toddler classes on
Wednesday mornings.
At the culmination of the Winter session, CAM's
Saturday classes will
perform at the annual cultural concert.
Most parents agree that this program is one of the
best experiences
their child has participated in. The Winter Session
has one of the
highest return rates so far. Allow your kids to
participate in a unique
and creative dance class while experiencing the
history of the Vanguard
at the hall (as well as the new dance floor)! Even if
you don't have
children, we hope that you will please help to spread
the word, and
tell people that we exist! Information is available at
the website below or by calling 408-727-5534 x18.
