desire to audition for membership in the Santa
Clara Vanguard. The camp is an opportunity
for you to learn and experience the
Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps.
Please understand that we are glad you are interested

If you are interested in the Vanguard Cadets, you do not have to show up to the December Audition Camp. Vanguard Cadets Workshops/Rehearsals are held on Sunday afternoons, December 4th, 11th and 18th from 1:00pm - 4:00pm at the SCV Hall. Click here for more Vanguard Cadets information.
AUDITION CAMPS
There will be two audition camps this year, November
25th - 27th and December 16th - 18th, for
all sections.
For those that
are eligible, placements will be made on Sunday morning
of the November camp for the Vanguard Cadets, which is the training ground
for future membership in the Vanguard. If you did not attend the November Audition Camp, you must must fill out the RSVP form.
CAMP LOCATION: The camp will start at the SCV Hall on Friday, December 16th at 6:00pm. After rehearsal, we will move to Kennedy High School in Fremont (tentatively) for the remainder of the weekend. Please keep checking back for the lastest information.
HOUSING: SCV will provide the housing from Friday night through Sunday afternoon. We will be sleeping in a gym, so bring your sleeping bag, pillow, shower stuff, and don't forget your towel.
MEALS
The audition camps include all meals throughout the weekend. If you
have any special dietary requirements, make sure to state
those on the RSVP form. We will make
every effort to accommodate any special requirements you may
have within reason. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate vegans due to the strict nature of their requirements. Vegans are completely different from vegetarians - whom we do accommodate.
TRANSPORTATION
We recommend that
you make travel arrangements to San
Jose International Airport. SCV will make shuttle runs to/from the airport throughout the day.
Look for a Vanguard bus, motorhome or suburban outside the baggage claim
area. If you are arriving to camp by plane, YOU MUST FILL OUT A SHUTTLE REQUEST FORM.
For those arriving at the Santa Clara Train Station or San Jose Bus Station, there are affordable rates from local
taxi companies to the SCV Hall. For anyone arriving at
the San
Francisco International Airport or Oakland
International Airport you will have to make your
own arrangements with San
Francisco shuttles or Oakland
shuttles.
REGISTRATION/CAMP FEE
$75 - for all participants auditioning for the Vanguard (regardless if you are a returning member or not). Fee is non-refundable and does not go towards payment of the yearly member fee. This is a one-time fee per person, per year. If you attended the November Audition Camp, you do not have to pay this fee again.
$30 - Monthly Camp Fee. This is required for your participation at camp. If you were not at the November Audition Camp, you only have to pay the $75 registration fee for this camp.
