2007 SCV Anniversary Alumni Corps
Celebrating Santa Clara's 40 years of tradition, class and excellence!
Sponsored by the Santa Clara Vanguard Alumni Association in association with the SCV Booster Club, the SCV Anniversary Alumni Corps will once again be formed for the our 40th anniversary celebrations in 2007.
2002 SCV 35th Anniversary Alumni Corps at Pacific Procession
The 2007 Anniversary Alumni Corps will be joining the members of the 2007 Vanguard for combined performances in celebration of our 40-year history. This will be somewhat different than our 1997 and 2002 performances where we put together 10-minute shows with musical selections from throughout our history.
We currently have a several confirmed performances:
- The SCV Birthday Dinner on March 25th. We'll be joining performances by the Vanguard and Vanguard Cadets.
- We're returning to the Concord Pavilion for the Bay Area Spring Drum Corps Concert on May 6th where we'll be joining the stage with the Vanguard, Vanguard Cadets and the Blue Devils.
- DCI West Regional on August 4th. We'll be joining the members of the 2007 Vanguard on the field for a combined SCV 40th Anniversary celebration. Afterwards, we'll share the field with the Blue Devils' A-Corps and Alumni Corps for a joint performance to celebrate the anniversaries of both organizations.
- And we're still working on a few more events.
 Also join us for the 40th Anniversary Celebration Banquet on August 5th.
Your participation fee of $75 includes a ticket to the SCV Birthday Dinner, the Saturday afternoon BBQ before the DCI West performance and a Polo Shirt as your uniform/show shirt. You will also need to purchase at least one seat for the DCI West at Stanford. There may be some additional costs. Brass players, we will be performing using mixed keys (G and Bb/F) much like we did for the Tournament of Roses Parade. If you have your own equipment or can find one to use, it will be extremely beneficial as our supply is limited.
Rehearsals will be starting on Feb 8th at 6:30pm at the SCV Hall. Check the SCV Alumni Corps monthly calendar for a detailed schedule. Music and warm-ups will also be downloadable from the SCV website when available. Start building your chops now!
The membership requirements for the Santa Clara Vanguard Alumni Corps are:
- Membership will be open to all former marching members of the Vanguard 'A' Corps, 'B' Corps, Cadet Corps or Winter Guard for at least one complete competitive season.
- Any potential corps member must have all previous corps fees and bingo requirements completed.
- Anyone under the age of 22 must receive approval by the Program Manager prior to participation.
- All Alumni Corps members must adhere to the Santa Clara Vanguard code of ethics.
As more details are confirmed, we'll be posting them here. This is going to be a great opportunity to connect with the current corps members, share experiences, and celebrate the success of our organization, our family together.
