SCVC Brass Workshops Continue - Sunday, Nov. 20

The Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets will continue hosting free brass workshops on Sunday, November 20 at Vanguard Hall, to anyone interested in auditioning for the 2012 season. New and continuing members are strongly encouraged to attend and begin conditioning for the upcoming 2012 season. Those prospective members who are planning to audition for the Vanguard are also invited.
This is a perfect opportunity regardless of corps to practice along side returning members of both corps and get a good insight from instructional staff of what you need to prepare and to expect at the upcoming California auditions in December for both Vanguard and Vanguard Cadets. The first brass workshop started on Sunday, November 13 and will continue every Sunday leading up to the confirmation of the Vanguard Cadets horn line.
The day will consist of marching basics from 9AM to noon and brass techniques from 1PM to 4PM. Lunch will be on your own. There is a lunch counter at Vanguard Hall.
Trumpets are to bring their own horn and all other brass prospectives should bring their mouthpiece (LARGE BORE FOR BARITONES). Wear clothes for marching (no jeans) and a music stand will be needed as we have a very small supply to lend at the Hall. These brass sessions will be Sunday, November 13 & 20 at Vanguard Hall and Dec. 4 at Independence High School.
Regular sessions for confirmed members of the SCVC Brass Line will begin January 7 and will continue into June.
