WINTER GUARD Call-Back & Auditions - Oct. 9 & 10

The 2010 silver medalist and 2009 World Champion Santa Clara Vanguard Winter Guard will host auditions for the 2011 winter season on Saturday, October 9 from 12 to 6PM at Don Callejon School in Santa Clara, and Sunday, October 10 from 10AM to 2PM at the King's Academy gym in Sunnyvale, CA. Prospective members who are 2010 or 2009 high school graduates of California Color Guard Circuit (CCGC-Bay Area) or Northern California Band Association (NCBA) color guards will be offered a free audition as long as they RSVP for the weekend through the contact e-mail listed below. All other first-time attendees will be charged $25 for the audition.

The October 9-10 weekend will serve as a call-back for prospective members who auditioned on September 18-19 and have been asked to return, as well as the final audition opportunity for anyone interested being a member of the 2011 winter guard, but was unable to attend the September audition.

Audition Fee: $25 per person (one-time)

Be sure to include your full name, contact information (address, email, & phone), age, birthdate, Facebook, guard experience, any fall band responsibilities you might have, etc.

Prospective members of the Vanguard World Guard must be in good standing with any winter or summer color guard program in which they've previously participated. Membership in the Vanguard or Vanguard Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps is not a prerequisite to audition or become a member of the Vanguard winter guard program.

The 2011 SCV Winter Guard program is under the direction of Denise Bonfiglio. Designers Jon Vanderkolff, Carol Abohatab, Jim Moore and Greg Lagola will again share the creative responsibilities for the program. All rehearsals are held in the Santa Clara/San Jose area. More information about the SCV Winter Guard program will be shared with prospective members who contact SCV to express their interest.
