SCV Announces Lead Choreographer for 2012 Program

Alumnus John Escalante (SCV 87-88) Returns to his SCV Roots

John Escalante, an accomplished choreographer with a long history in the color guard and pageantry activity, returns to Santa Clara Vanguard as lead choreographer for the 2012 program Music of The Starry Night. His marching experience includes Santa Clara Vanguard, San Jose Raiders Winter Guard, Madison Scouts and Cadets of Bergen County. He holds a BFA in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts and has also performed in several Las Vegas Productions.

He has choreographed for many of the top WGI and DCI World Class programs, including Clovis West HS, Center Grove HS, Fantasia, Pride of Cincinnati and Cadets of Bergen County. John currently teaches color guard clinics and dance workshops throughout the country and instructs several of Southern California’s top World, Open and A class units, as well as Coronado, Foothill and Sierra Vista High Schools in Las Vegas.
