Vanguard Brass & Percussion Camp #1

January 13, 2012 – January 15, 2012

This camp is for those BRASS & PERCUSSION who received a 1 or 2 Grade level at one of the following events: the November (TX) Weekend Audition Camp; the December (CA) Weekend Audition Camp; the December Brass Audition (Houston, TX); or the January Brass Audition (SCV Hall, Santa Clara, CA). The camp is an opportunity set the brass and percussion sections for the summer of 2012, as well as rank alternate spots heading through the winter camp season, and to continue learning with the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum & Bugle Corps. We are looking forward to your participation. Just relax and do your best. Throughout the camp there will be auditions to decide final brass and percussion placements in the Vanguard, recommended for the Vanguard Cadets or return another year. Please don't overpack for the camp. Overnight bag should contain most of what you'll need for the weekend, other than your sleeping bag, pillow and possibly a brass instrument. Good luck!

Notes:

Anyone flying to this camp should either use the San Jose airport (SJC) or San Francisco airport (SFO). There will be shuttle pickups for the SJC and SFO airports only. FYI, the camp location is closer to SFO airport. Anyone arriving in the mid or late afternoon into SFO will take the BART & Cal Train combination to the Redwood City station for a 6:30 or 7:30PM pickup (always make a shuttle request and grab dinner before we pick you up). Anyone arriving in SJC in the morning or afternoon on Friday should expect us to pick you up at 5:30PM or 6:30PM from either of the two designated pickup spots beyond the terminals at SJC (always make a shuttle request and grab dinner before we pick you up). Anyone arriving in the evening on Friday into either SFO or SJC should make a shuttle request and we will come to retrieve you. If you are arriving by bus or train into San Jose, make a shuttle request for us to retrieve you. IF YOU ARE GETTING A RIDE FROM SOMEONE OTHER THAN SCV, do not make a shuttle request. ALSO, please schedule your Sunday departure as well, when you make your arrival shuttle request.
